That's a good question Joe, I don't know! I would think that if authors were being pushed into this trope, someone would have said something about it somewhere, which I haven't seen. But maybe! I think it's probably possible!
Love love love this piece SO much. And a huge reason why I skew toward the YA fiction on the fringes because I can't STAND this trope. Loved reading your thoughts on it. Congrats on the book, too!
