Hey friends!
Who is planning to write something during (fiction, non-fiction, anything) National Novel Writing Month in November? Because I am!
Who is ready to write something during NaNoWriMo? Crickets—I thought so. (Don’t worry, I’m not super ready either.)
I know most of Preptober is already over, but I thought it would be fun for anyone interested to come together for some virtual planning sessions so we’re ready to hit the ground running in November. NaNo is a huge undertaking, but it’s more fun when it’s done together. So let’s do it together!
Starting this weekend, I’ll be holding virtual write-ins on every Sunday for the rest of the month. Each write-in will last for two hours and start at 8:30 am Pacific/11:30 am Eastern/4:30 pm Greenwich Mean Time.
If you’re already in, great! Register here:
If you want more details, I totally get it!
Plan for each session:
5 minutes of introductions and goal-setting
45 minutes of head-down working
10-minute break
50 minutes of head-down working
10 minutes of sharing, questions, closeout
I've completed the NaNo challenge to write 50,000 words in a month three times, but I'm by no means an expert! I won't be "teaching" anyone anything here. I just want to create space for other writers who are trying to juggle their writing goals and their daily lives.
That said, I have ideas of what people could work on. Suggested agenda for the sessions:
Session One, October 16: Decide on your story, short summary, and main character(s).
Session Two, October 23: Character motivations and arcs, setting research
Session Three, October 30: Plotting and planning your November writing schedule
These are just ideas for what you can work on each session! We'll be working silently for more of it, so you can work on whatever you want to.
Open to all writers participating in National Novel Writing Month this November!
I’m capping attendance to 20 people per session so it’s not overwhelming for everyone. Register now:
Do we have to do every Sunday? I’m planning on doing NANOWRIMO but am never 100% how my sundays are going to go. But I’d love to be part of yr group.
Preptober almlst over? Haha we haven’t even gotten to the second half of the month. Lol don’t rush us!
